Why Majestic Kenya

Why travellers book with us

01

More time with the animals

Camps sit inside or on the park boundary, so you skip long drives in and out and catch the best morning and evening light.

02

A guide who reads the bush

Our guides know animal behaviour, not just locations. They position you before the hunt or the river crossing starts.

03

Local, licensed, accountable

A Kenyan company with a Nairobi office and TRA licence. You deal with the people who run your trip, not a UK reseller.

What guests say

★★★★★

“The trip completely exceeded our expectations, even despite it not being ‘peak season’ we were able to tick off Africa’s Big 5 on the very first game drive. This was in no small part down to our guide, Bonnie…”

“Stanley Gichuki crafted the journey of dreams… Samburu was our favorite in terms of landscape. We stood in awe in Samburu as reticulated giraffes swept across the horizon…”

“Our guide Samuel was fantastic – incredible wildlife knowledge and spotted animals from miles away. We saw the Big Five, including a pride of lions with cubs in the Maasai Mara.”

Planning a Luxury Safari in Kenya: A Practical Guide

What Makes a Kenya Safari Luxury?

Your own vehicle and guide

No shared minibus, no strangers. A private Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof and a window seat for everyone stays with your party for the whole trip. Leave at 6am for the light, sit with a lion pride for three hours, or head back early for a swim. Your guide learns what you want to see and plans each day around it.

The best lodge in each park

We pick places for their position first: tents on the Mara River near the crossing points, lodges inside Amboseli facing Kilimanjaro, riverside camps in Samburu where elephants walk past your veranda. Then comes the comfort: en-suite rooms, good food, pools and spa treatments at many.

Travelling by road lets you stop at the Rift Valley viewpoint and spot game on the way in. Short on time? Fly the long legs. Many guests drive one way and fly back.

Private and VIP Safaris in Kenya

Every trip we run is private. Some guests want more, and Kenya does the top end well.

Private safari

  • A dedicated driver-guide and Land Cruiser for your party throughout
  • Your own start times, routes and time at each sighting
  • Led by guides such as Boniface Kamau and John Mithamo, each with more than 20 years in the field

VIP safari

  • Meet-and-assist at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
  • Top-tier lodges and private villas with private dining
  • Charter flights or helicopter transfers on any leg

Experiences we arrange

  • Sunrise hot-air balloon flight over the Mara with champagne breakfast
  • Private bush breakfasts and sundowners
  • Visiting Najin and Fatu, the last two northern white rhinos, at Ol Pejeta

Why Book Direct with a Kenyan Operator

Most UK safari companies pass your booking to a ground operator in Nairobi. We are that operator.

  • One team. The person who plans your trip works with the guides who drive it.
  • Licensed and local. TRA-licensed (TRA1/47/C01/78639), with an office at Cianda House, Nairobi.
  • Help on the spot. If a flight moves or a road floods, we sort it from Nairobi, not from an office 4,000 miles away.
